I converted the Frame version that Richard developed to LaTeX because
Adobe said something like "no new versions, and no version on Linux
ever."

A PDF editor could conceivably be used, but I don't know of any that
could automagically number and format syntax rules and constraints and
… and allow references to them by name so the references would also
automagically work….

Maybe MS Word can do these things, but that would probably require
manual transcription. I don't know the situation now, but I never used
a version of Word that could set equations competently.
