Van,
Please try not to be so disparaging in your criticism, and don't assume we have no idea what we're talking about. These ideas in no way prevent using them to parameterize modules. In fact I can imagine use cases where that might be desired. Just because the examples in this short presenation don't address it directly doesn't mean we haven't considered it. This is all still very much a work in progress as well.
