[J3] make it official

Dan,

This seems like a good moment to say how much I valued working with you. 
It feels as if you were always there to help me as Convenor, but you 
were not at the meeting in 2000 and we first met in London in 2001. You 
certainly helped then but our first joint meeting was in 2002. 
Thereafter, we always sat together as chairs.

What's happended? Are you well? Have you got too much to do at NCAR?

Anyway, I do really appreciate all your help over so many years. If I 
come to any more meetings, it will not be quite the same without you.
