Thanks for bringing this up. Yesterday I was in the minority role for the spec proposal. I hope I did not offend anyone. My goal is to get 202X out as soon as possible, and last thing I want is to stall the process. As others at the committee, I have Fortran's best interest at heart and my objection was purely technical, in my mind the cons did not outweigh the pros. The majority had a different opinion and that is ok. The proposal moved forward.
