LANL has a similar policy as Rich mentioned, so Zach and I might not be able to make it either.

This might be a blessing in disguise. 

It's been a feedback from many new members to the committee as well as from a lot of people outside, that the way we use our in person time is not efficient and that we do not work between meetings.  We have made great progress to fix the second issue by working at GitHub (https://github.com/j3-fortran/fortran_proposals) and I plan to try to organize ourselves for the next meeting to have more work done ahead of time for proposal for 202X, so that when we meet, we are more efficient.

To fix the first issue, we should enable the plenary time and voting on proposals over video conferencing. That will allow wider participation and hopefully allow us to grow the committee faster.
