Thanks, Steve, for relaying this sad news. I did get to meet Walt once at one of the Las Vegas J3 meetings (likely a “reunion” meeting to which icons of the past were invited). He was a delight to talk to and seemed full of life and energetic. I seem to recall talk of extensive mountain hiking (and, unfortunately, smoking). A Google search indicates that Walt was 84.
