Dear SIGPLAN members,
We would like to call your attention to the newly launched SIGPLAN blog,
called PL Perspectives, visible at https://blog.sigplan.org.
The mission of PL Perspectives is to showcase programming
languages-based ideas and results, and their connections to the wider
world. Posts may cover a broad range of topics, from concepts to
realization, theory to implementation, and education to practice. They
will be broadly accessible, assuming a technical background but not
necessarily a deep expertise in PL research. More info here:
https://blog.sigplan.org/2019/06/22/welcome/.
PL perspectives will also serve as a communication medium to SIGPLAN
members. For example, current Chair Jens Palsberg published a State of
SIGPLAN article
(https://blog.sigplan.org/2019/06/27/the-state-of-sigplan/) and the
SIGPLAN Climate Committee proposes adjustments to the way ACM
conferences are managed
(https://blog.sigplan.org/2019/07/17/acm-conferences-and-the-cost-of-carbon/).
We welcome your contributions too:
https://blog.sigplan.org/blog/propose-a-blog-post-topic/. We hope you
enjoy it!
Thanks,
-Michael Hicks
PL Perspectives Editor
Past SIGPLAN Chair (2015-2018)
