There are probably J3 papers on these functions - it predates my time on 
the committee. The argument for the degree intrinsics was that they were 
already in nearly every compiler and were widely used. Arguments for 
these other intrinsics would need to be along the lines of the BESSEL 
functions, etc.

Please don't think that I am objecting - I have no position on these new 
suggestions at this time. I was just pointing out that they would not be 
"standardizing existing practice".
