(j3.2006) Generic disambiguation by signature of procedure dummy argument?

I know this topic has been discussed across the table at least once before,  but I do not recall where things were going.

I have a group that would very much like to disambiguate a generic interface based upon the signature of the dummy procedure argument.  (I can spell out in detail if necessary, but I?m hoping this is clear enough.)

Apparently some compilers do the disambiguation and others flag it as a violation of the standard.   The latter is presumably true, but is there room/interest to extend this?  Or is it hopeless for technical reasons?
