I've run into a snag with the email list that I did not anticipate - the 
hosting package I am using limits emails to 200/hour; this was buried in 
an "acceptable use policy". Since the J3 general list has 103 members 
(though maybe only 80+ are enabled for mail), that means the limit is 
hit quickly when a discussion is active. Supposedly messages exceeding 
that limit are queued for sending later, but even so this probably isn't 
going to work.

I'm trying to figure out what my options are here. For some extra money 
with the current host, I can boost the limit to 500/hour, but even that 
is inadequate. Another hosting service I use has a limit of 200 every 5 
minutes, which seems more doable, but I need to do some experiments to 
see how closely I can replicate the lists there.

Damian has suggested a "Slack channel", but the free tier has a limit on 
archived messages, and I haven't yet found how one participates by email 
(Damian says it is possible.) The paid tier is just too expensive.

I am open to suggestions, but please send them to me directly and NOT 
the list!

Lastly, if you are on this list and don't want to be anymore, please 
send me mail and I'll remove you.
