[J3] (SC22WG5.6068) FDIS for Ballot - N2162

All,

Malcolm and I have been going back and forth with the ISO Secretariat on
the use of "might" in the FDIS text. Malcolm has been very responsive in
making changes that have now satisfied ISO, so the FDIS will be released
for ballot. The new document is N2162 and ISO members will be receiving
notification of that shortly. (J3 site members can reference N2162-1.pdf in
the Edit folder.) I have attached a differences report so you can see what
changed from N2159.

Malcolm deserves special thanks for his accommodations here, working to
preserve the intelligibility of the text while also satisfying the ISO
Directives that, if taken literally, might (!) result in unacceptable and
confusing English.

If I recall correctly, the ballot period is eight weeks. Almost there!
