A list that reaches the major processor providers seemed like a good
place to ask a question about what their processors do.  It could get
lost among the chaff in comp-fortran-90 or comp.lang.fortran. The
sc22wg5 list seemed like the wrong place.

If the vendors say "sure, that's obvious; it's on our list" there's
little point to pursue changes to the standard to make the syntax reveal
the desired optimization.
