(j3.2006) Jackson Hole, WY

I remember that meeting in Jackson Hole very well ? not least because I had my two sons, David (then 17) and Richard (then 8) with me. 

After the meeting we stayed on for another week and did the whole range of ?touristy? things in Jackson ? trail riding in the Tetons, wagon train ride to a ?cowboy cookout? near Jackson, and white water rafting on the Snake (see attached photo!) ? before spending two days exploring Yellowstone (which was on fire at the time) and ending our western adventure in Cody, where we attended the famous Cody Night Rodeo.

Four years ago I led a group of twenty members of the Friendship Force who, after spending a week staying with new friends in Denver, and another week staying with more new friends in Cheyenne, travelled on to Jackson and repeated many of the things that I had done with my two boys a quarter of a century earlier. But, as we were all ?oldies? we travelled on a nice gentle raft down the Snake rather than doing the white water thing! Richard now lives near Los Angeles, where both he and his wife teach at UCLA, so if there is an old geezers re-union next year I might be able to combine that with a visit to my grand-daughter Grace (and her parents ;-).
