<wg9 at ada-auth.org> about another message:
The RM [Reference Manual] itself has clear instructions on submitting
errors, so there doesn't seem to be any reason to repeat that here. This
is just about the details of enhancement requests. The main reason for
this paragraph is that most of the enhancement requests that we've
received have been completely devoid of the problem to be solved - they
tend to be a "cool new feature for Ada" without any indication of how or
why it would be used. That makes it impossible to judge any sort of
priority for the idea. So it seemed important in this case to spell that
out to anyone who is thinking of sending something.
The main reason for the parenthetical remark is to just make it clear
that this paragraph is not talking about errors in the Standard; the
only requirements on reports of those are as specified in the RM. We
could say a bit more perhaps in the second sentence, something like:
These (along with any error reports) should be sent to
ada-comment at ada-auth.org as described in the RM Introduction
(http://www.ada-auth.org/standards/rm12_w_tc1/html/RM-0-3.html#p58).
Should we have something (nonnormative) in 1539-1 about submitting error
reports?
