Absolutely false, Van, and you know it.  The developers WANT this feature because the current situation is too hard to deal with.   And it was not my feature.  I was not the original proposer, and it was approved by /Data subgroup, J3, and WG5 as a whole. 

In my original reply I gave you completely reasonable reasons for the feature.  Your response was an unacceptable tirade.  It is now clear to me why people do not reply to you.
