(j3.2006) (SC22WG5.5261) Group dinner?

As the host for meeting 204, I was wondering about a group dinner during the
week. My understanding is that this hasn't been done in Vegas for a while,
now (I haven't been to a joint meeting in Vegas for six years, I think), and
I don't want to get too fancy about it, but I could make reservations at a
nice (but not horribly expensive) place in the area for Wednesday if the
group is interested. I'm not as familiar with Vegas as many of you, so I
welcome suggestions.  I see that the #1 reviewed LV restaurant on
TripAdvisor is Roy's (http://www.roysrestaurant.com/), which is pretty close
to the Fairfield. The cuisine looks interesting and the prices are moderate
(for Vegas). A private dining room with a set of menus is available.
Another popular choice is Off The Strip Bistro and Bar
(http://offthestripbistro.com/ ) Other suggestions?

 

I also heard that "Swiss Chalet" (?) was fondly remembered, but I can't find
anything by that name.

 

I do note that the weather in Vegas next week is going to be VERY hot, with
temperatures in the 100s (40C), during the day, so we're not going to want
to walk far. We should have enough cars to drive.
