Perhaps some clarifications to my comments would make a better record:

"There was now a Cray C++ coarray compiler with the Fortran semantics
and analogous syntax reproduced in C++ using a class library. No change
to the actual C++ compiler was involved."
{They could not have the identical Fortran specification since that
includes Fortran statement syntax.}
