Oh, now I see, it's become clearer what Malcolm was getting at, and I did  misunderstand. You can only wait on your local variable, but another image can post to it. It had all become a bit fuzzy in my mind. So the scenario I described can't in fact happen. Got it. Never mind!

As for ordering of two images posting, I had not considered that, but I would expect it to be processor-dependent.
