(j3.2006) Fortran Standard References for Editing IEEE Exceptions (Was: Signaling NaN)

Everyone:
	Others have quoted the Fortran 2008 standard at length.  However, they have not
yet provided references.  Here are some, although this list is not necessarily complete.

	Most of the rules about I/O of IEEE exceptional conditions are in section
10.7.2.3.2.  This section covers I/O editing using the Fw.d edit descriptor for
fixed-field I/O of real (floating-point) values.  Paragraph 2 provides for case
insensitivity.  Paragraphs 5, 6, 7, and 8 provide the detailed rules.

	If the edit descriptor is one of the exponential formats (Ew.d, Ew.dEe, or Dw.d),
section 10.7.2.3.3 paragraphs 2 and 3 provide that the editing is the same as for Fw.d
editing.

	If the edit descriptor is the general format (Gw.d and Gw.dEe), section 10.7.5.2.2
paragraphs 1 and 3 provide that the editing is the same as for Fw.d editing.
