The function presented in item (1) of interp F03/0090 may be part
of a standard-conforming program only if it is never referenced
because there is no assignment to the function result variable.
Clearly, there is a typo in the example.  What is the preferred
method for dealing with an issue such as this?  Should I vote to
approve with a comment, or should I vote to diapprove?
