Hi folks,
08-007 is now available in PDF and PostScript.
It's not as polished as I'd like (and doubtless as you had hoped)
since I have been very busy with other tasks of late. However,
imperfect as it is it is better I think to get it to you now than
to spend more time fixing it. Apologies in advance for mistakes
made (and for the rejected papers -- I'm sure it will be easier
to sort those out at the meeting without first making the old edits).
Also apologies to Bill Long and John Reid, both of whom sent me
editorial corrections that I've lost. (And anyone else whose email
I've managed to lose.) Sorry about that.
08-011 is also available.
08-102 and 08-103 are the editor's report and the changes to the
list of unresolved issues respectively.
Back on the 08-007: the previous situation of having lots of subclause
titles at the bottom of a page seems to have been improved somewhat,
though I have not checked every page for this. This seems to be the
result of using a newer version of LaTeX than I did last time.
Unfortunately itseems to have come at the cost of a few mysterious
page breaks leaving the bottom 1/3 of the page blank; these are NOT
because of "\newpage" commands! My initial investigation indicates
that it has something to do with large blocks of consecutive constraints
that don't fit on the page, apparently LaTeX is choosing to push the
whole block (plus preceding non-constraint) onto the next page, as if
there were no paragraph break between each of them. I didn't see
anything particularly suspicious in the \dcons definition, so it is
probably an unfortunate interaction between \dcons and line numbering
and paragraph numbering. This needs further experimentation to work
out what is causing it... which I will do later.
The "export" version of the 007 build directory, and the subversion
repository, are both in the Edit directory on the J3 member web site.
(I've not cleaned up the old versions yet, if you want these just pick
up the two most recent files.)
BTW 08-007 is also WG5/N1705.
I will be posting a separate message to the WG5 list.
Cheers,
--
