ODF the OpenOffice format *is* an ISO standard. So too (now or almost  
now) is OOXML which is the Word 2009 or 2010 format (the current  
format produced by Word2008 doesn't match the proposed/accepted  
Standard -- or so I'm told).

The irony is that that the version(s) of Word that are acceptable  
don't match any ISO standard ;>
