(j3.2006) Building the standard from the LaTeX sources

Hi folks,

Van has reminded me that I should warn people that rebuilding with a
different version of LaTeX than the one I used might end up with
different layout because of:
 - font differences between LaTeX distributions;
 - algorithmic differences between different (La)TeX versions.

Due to knock-on effects, this can end up making a big difference
(e.g. 6 pages extra because a line got shifted from one page to the next).

So if you do play with building from the sources, please don't use the
results for basing your edits on!
