(j3.2006) POSIX

In the process, are they planning to bring the standards forward 30 
years to modern times?  It seems pointless to just rearrange the pages.  
What is the argument for doing this?  As a practical matter, with the 
advent of C interop and the ability to call libc routines directly, it 
has been a long time since I bothered with a PXF... man page.
