(j3.2006) Interop C descriptor

OK, I think I have a C descriptor that will work for what Aleks wants.  
I suspect that the rest of the list would appreciate less email on this 
issue, so I propose to continue the discussion with a subgroup of Aleks, 
Craig, Chris, Rob, and Mike.  If you want to be added (or deleted) from 
the list, let me know.
