Point well take.   With the high cost of jet fuel, airlines are starting 
to charge extra on long flights, so distance does form a big part of the 
equation.  Fresh in my memory is that my ticket alone to London cost 50% 
more than my entire cost of a Las Vegas meeting.   But, I do agree that 
the total cost is the more interesting metric.
